Pets often take a piece of our heart when they pass. If you've lost a pet and it's been especially difficult (or you know it will be difficult when your current pet passes), we recommend finding a way to memorialize your pet. This can be a way to help you heal and grieve the loss of your friend.
Some ideas for memorializing your pet might include:
A small garden memorial.
Plant a tree.
Do a small memorial service with family and friends who knew your pet.
Donate to an animal organization (money or items).
What would you include on this list? How have you remembered your pet who has passed?
We here at Pet Care Plus are dedicated to bringing resources to people in our service area and beyond. If you have experienced a loss of a pet we recommend some of the resources below.
Cornell University - College of Veterinary Medicine - Pet Loss Support Hotline
This site includes resources for both people who have lost a pet and for those who help those who are dealing with the loss of a pet. This site includes chat rooms, resource lists, online pet memorials, and more.
